Launching: Uplift – a poetry community hub

I’ve started my own poetry initiative called Uplift! (Along with my wonderful colleague Charity Shadforth.)

I love the poetry community here in Meanjin and further afield, and I want to help it shine brighter than ever!

Uplift is a poetry community hub that aims to uplift people and their poetry through events, opportunities, and connection. I want us to thrive on poetic reciprocity, and be non-competitive and community-focused.

At this early stage, Uplift is a comprehensive monthly newsletter for sharing and showcasing poetry events, opportunities and more in Meanjin (Brisbane), Queensland, and Australia-wide.

At Uplift, we research events, publishing opportunities, book releases and beyond, so you don’t have to, then we send them straight to your inbox.

SUBSCRIBE NOW or check out our website.

Got a poetry event, opportunity or book release you want us to share? Head to our website for more info.

In the very near future, we aim to kick off our own events, partner with organisations, and provide even more services to the poetry community.

Uplift is based on stolen lands in Meanjin, the lands of the Jagera and Turrbal people. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
